Alix's selection to represent the US Under 17 was fitting as he poses tremendous cricketing skills over the years. Most importantly, Alix love for the game of cricket was recognized at an early age as he was around eleven years of age when he joined the Sunrise Cricket Club. Since then his passion, commitment and dedication to develop in the game of cricket never stopped.

Alix built his cricketing skills with his Sunrise Softball club, whose mission is to give youth the opportunity to develop their cricketing skills while playing with experience players, who are role models and mentors as well. While playing for Sunrise in the New York Softball Cricket (NYSCL), Alix started to play for his fielding abilities which was striking as opposing team wouldn’t risk his gun of an arm. As he developed his batting and bowling skills Alix earned a permanent position as an all-rounder for Sunrise. In addition, Alix took advantage of the free Cricket Youth Clinic Program provided by the New York Softball Cricket League (NYSCL) every Saturday in summer. Alix skills were noticed by the NYSCL as he was elected the captain their youth team for two years.  In 2012 he captained the New York Softball Cricket League youth team against Schenectady XI youth team and led his team to victory. In 2011 he was named the most improved players and 2012 was crown player of the year by his club SSCC.  While playing for Sunrise Alix earned several batting and bowling awards and most recently in 2015 was recognized as emerging players of the year by his Sunrise Club.

In the last three years Alix turned his attention to the hardball version of cricket which he found very interesting. He swiftly move and join local hardball clubs and work steadily to improve his hardball cricketing skills which paved the way for him to be selected for John Adams High School of Queens cricked team, Spartans. At John Adams starting in 2014 Alix played in the New York City Public School Athletic League (PSACL) which holds an annual cricket completion. At John Adams, Alix playing as an all-rounder quickly became a key player and leading his team in many matches. During the recent 2016 regular PSACL cricket competition Alix scored several half centuries, was one of the leaders in most runs scored and was very handy with the ball picking wickets. In addition, Alix and his Spartan team won the PSCAL 2016 cricket final defeating Franklin Delano High School (FDR) of Brooklyn. In this important final with John Adams down 37 for 2 in the 8th over and FDR having the advantage, Alix made 31 and a crucial 3rd down partnership of 79 runs. Alix was key in repairing his team batting as he took his team to the 15th over building the foundation for John Adam being crowned the PSCAL Cricket Champion for 2016.

It was not surprising that Alex was selected as part of the USA Under 17 team, as he displayed striking cricketing skills at the recent ICC Under-17 New York Cricket Combine trials.
